„Let’s talk about art, 7b“ 😊
We, the 7b, visited Museum Ludwig in Cologne on Wednesday 11th January 2023. The tram took us to Cologne and we arrived at the museum after a few minutes of walking. We took part in an English workshop. Our guide´s name was Nina. For each picture we looked at, we did a small task.
At first Nina showed us a picture by the artist: Yves Klein. We wrote down the alphabeth and tried to find a word that spontaneously came to our minds for each letter. It was very cool and we found a lot of words.
The next picture showed a man, who had just been arrested, holding a sign. We created speech and thought bubbles and wrote down what the man might say or think.
After that we formed groups of five students and every group chose one picture. Then we did some acting. Everyone imagined what might have happened before, during and after the scene in the picture. My classmates and me thought of freeze frames which we later presented to each other.
As a next step we looked at a very colourful picture. The artist made this picture among other things with wool and threads. So we did something very funny and created our own picture: Everyone got at thread and threw it into the middle. So after the last person had thrown her/his thread we had our own picture made of wool.
Finally, Nina showed us a picture Picasso drew. We learnt that Picasso drew his pictures from different perspectives, so we did the same. One girl sat in the middle and the other students drew her. We passed our paintings on and then painted the girl again from our own perspective but on our neighbours‘ paper.
Unfortunately, the workshop ended after two hours. It was a very cool experience because we learnt a lot about art in a playful way.
