Der Projektkurs Englisch/Geschichte proudly presents: Exploring the Life of Henry VIII

Der Projektkurs „Exploring the life of Henry VIII“ von Frau Faßbender stöberte auf den Spuren Heinrichs VIII ein Jahr lang in verschiedensten Romanen. Die Ergebnisse werden hier präsentiert:

Jean Plaidy’s Murder Most Royal forms the fifth part of her ‘Tudor Saga‘ and focuses on Henry’s second as well as his fifth wife, Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard, who also happened to be cousins.
If you know the nursery rhyme with which to remember the fate of Henry’s wives, then you can already make an educated guess in regards to Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard … But was Henry VIII indeed a “murder” most royal?

Margaret George’s The Autobiography of Henry VIII. With Notes by His Fool Will Somers differs a lot from other historical fiction concerned with Henry VIII since George tried to put herself into Henry’s shoes and had him write his autobiography in form of a diary, addressed to his illegitimate daughter. However, as the title already indicates, additional notes by Henry’s fool were seen as necessary by George in order to put some of Henry’s statements into perspective…
